Introducing
WUF Center
This project is my 1st attempt in DIY-ing a center speaker for my humble HT setup. Having previously owned the Focal-JmLab Electra CC900, my ambition to surpass it is rather high indeed. Since I liked the acoustic signature of the ScanSpeak range of drivers, this will be an all SS drivers design.

Design
With the CC900 as the performance base reference, I would need very good (a.k.a. expensive drivers) to better it. I also toyed with the idea of a curved cabinet design - both as a challenge of carpentry ability/skills and to satisfy my personal aesthetic desire/taste.

Drivers
This will be a full range speaker in WMTMW formation. Introducing team ScanSpeak ;;
Tweeter : D2904 770000 (qty 1) 
MidRange : 12M 4631G00 (qty 2)
Woofer: 18W 8545G00 (qty 2)
I had originally wanted to use the Revelator 18W8531G00 but decided against it to save a little bit of cost. Although one of the main objectives is Quality Bass, I felt this slight compromise in woofer selection to be insignificant performance wise. The 8545 afterall, is a respectable driver in its own right and reported used in prestigious products such as the Wilson Watt Puppy 7 (though it is customised rather than stock driver).
Enclosure
I started with a conventional rectangular box design, a BIG WMTMW configuration with dual front ports. After seeing the construction pages of the Sonus Faber Amati, I began to ponder over the possibility of a curved cabinet design. The biggest challenge would be making the curved profile, obvious isn't it? Instead of using maple panels, it will be substituted with 3mm mdf panels finished with real wood veneers.
XO (no activities till Aug/Sep)
For simplicity, I plan to go for a 1st order 3-way circuit (taking the lead from SF Cremona). However, it all depends on the FR+Impedence chart of the individual drivers on the final enclosure. With this dependency, this portion would have to wait another 2-3months.
